The state of Utah has officially banned 5-liter mini kegs from public sale. The legislation will particularly effect Squatters and Wasatch Brewery, which produced the "Chubby" kegs; Greg Schirf, the beer cooperative's managing partner, called the loss "a heartbreaker."
The 5-liter mini kegs hold the equivalent of 14 12-ounce bottles. Utah banned the sale of full-size beer kegs to the public in 1990.
