Burger with a Beer in Fast Food Chains

July 5, 2011

The new trend in the fast food industry is serving alcoholic beverages with your meal. This aims to help boost sales, according to the owners. The new beverages menu now includes beer, wine and other stronger brews. Pizza Hut has been selling beer for decades. But the new Burger King restaurants in Miami, Las Vegas and Kansas started serving alcoholic beverages. Burger King gave it a new name, “Whopper Bars”, though it uses the same logo, brand and menu. Three other Burger King restaurants in Singapore, Spain and Venezuela, also serve brews. Four Starbucks coffee shops in Seattle are now selling local wines and beers in addition to their signature coffee. Sonic restaurants in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida are also joining the beer trend. They see this trend as “an opportunity to drive evening business” and they have no plans of selling alcoholic beverages in their other restaurants outside Southern Florida.

Nice, I remember they served beer at McDonald's in Madrid when I lived there in the 80's. It wasn't very good beer, but it paired well with a Big Mac.
