Deadly European E Coli Cases Now Suspected in US

June 2, 2011

With mounting anxiety over a lethal e coli outbreak that has already claimed 18 lives across Europe, doctors today said three Americans have been infected with what appears to be the same e coli outbreak after traveling to Germany, according to AFP. The CDC is waiting for test results to confirm the U.S. cases are indeed related.

German health authorities still haven't figured out the cause of the outbreak, but have warned against raw vegetables and salads.
