Seasonal Sunday May 8 - 14

May 8, 2011

It’s Mothers Day this Seasonal Sunday and what better way to spend this day than to treat Mom to your local farmers market? Shower her with fresh cut flowers, artisan breads, and cheese and freshly picked fruits and vegetables. For this week’s seasonal cooking, we have rhubarb, asparagus, wild leeks, eggplant, fava beans, peaches and avocado. We also spied on some mangoes, papaya, shrimp, crawfish, sea trout, and cream dory showing up in some stalls. There is really nothing like making meals out of produce that is in season.
