Durian

About

The durian is a tropical fruit found in Southeast Asia. It has gained quite a reputation for its unsavory smell, but is prized for its sweet, buttery, delicious flesh, described as custard with a hint of almond. This fruit is rarely seen outside of Southeast Asia because they tend to rot easily when ripe, but chefs have learned to make preserves, cake, candies, and ice cream to let others have a taste of this "King of Fruit" sans the smell.
