Ouzo

About

Ouzo is an anise-flavored spirit that is widely consumed in Greece. It tastes a lot like licorice, so if you don't like licorice then you probably won't like ouzo. It's served with and without ice or water. The most common story is said that ouzo began with a group of 14th century monks living in a monastery on holy Mount Athos. One kind that they made was flavored with Anise. This is the version that is now called ouzo.
