Grant Central Pizza in Atlanta Adds Crying Kid Disclaimer to Menu

February 17, 2012

If your children have a penchant for throwing tantrums, you may want to avoid Grant Central Pizza in Atlanta, which recently added a disclaimer to its menu that reminds parents to take their crying tots outside to calm them down. Here's the disclaimer in its entirety, thanks to My Fox Atlanta:

Dear all present and future patrons: GCP is proud of its reputation as a family restaurant, a title that we will work to keep. Unfortunately a number of our diners have posted unpleasant experiences because of crying and unsupervised children. To ensure that all diners have an enjoyable lunch or dinner with us we respectfully ask that parents tend to their crying tots outside.

GCP co-owner Donnie Parmer acknowledged that he wants to retain the restaurant's family-friendly atmosphere and welcome kids -- he's merely responding to complaints from customers who've had unsavory experiences due to unruly kids. He told Fox 5 that the final straw came when "a child hit another customer in the head with a toy." Parmer indicated that he doesn't plan on kicking guests out of the restaurant or banning them outright -- this menu disclaimer is more like a "polite reminder."

Parents and restaurant patrons, where do you stand on the matter?

Kids. Out of adult establishments. Keep them at home until they can behave unlike wild animals. Or, don't have them if you can't control them!

from ur comment im pretty sure that u dont have kids. i have two young children and its extremely difficult keeping them under control in a public place. so this does not mean my kids should not leave home till the age of 10 nor does it make me a bad parent. all i can do is appologise to someone if they are misbehaving around them and hopefully they will be educated enough to understand.

I had 4 children and they were welcome anywhere because they were taught how to behave at a young age. I can not stand children that are allowed to run around a restaurant without any supervision by their parents. People are there to enjoy a nice meal and don't need cranky or unsupervised kids to aggravate them.

If your kid hits me in the head, I am going to spank your kid's ass for you, since you obviously do not discipline them yourself.

although i understand where ur coming from, spanking other peoples children in not right and not on. im sure that if i seen anyone spanking my kids ( even if they did do something wrong) would deff cause trouble. so the owner not only would have to deal with a crying baby, but with angry parents. im sure u would not let anyone smack your children so why would u smack other children?

I ALWAYS took my daughter outside (27 years ago) when she would cry inside a restaurant. No one had to remind me. Parents who allow their kids to continue crying in such a place are completely idiotic and insensitive to both the kids and everyone else around them, and are very likely raising children who will be as insensitive and moronic as themselves.
