Crab salad in avocado boats is a unique way to present a salad. The citrusy crab salad pairs nicely with the buttery avocado flesh. This recipe serves two but can easily be doubled or triples. I like to serve this at dinner parties because it makes guests feel special, as if they are receiving their own gift. This salad would be a nice addition to any summer menu.
Ingredients:
1/3 cup finely chopped red onion
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 teaspoon Thai style hot sauce such as Sriracha
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
3 teaspoons fresh lime juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon lime zest
8 ounces lump crab meat
1 ripe large avocado, halved and pitted
